Medicare-eligible folks age 55 or older can get a fresher smile Saturday.

Volunteer dentists, hygienists and assistants will be giving those folks one free dental cleaning or extraction at JenCare Senior Medical Center’s Decatur location, 2124 Candler Road.

Medical center spokeswoman Carmalitha Gumbs said the event will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the cleanings should take between 20 and 30 minutes.

“JenCare's free dental day is a strategic effort to help fill the gap in access to dental care among seniors in the Atlanta metro area,” according to a press release.

The medical center, which has five clinics in metro Atlanta, said dentists Dr. Christina Francisco, Dr. Ashvi Mittal and Dr. Carol Leonard are expected to attend.
