Snellville will hold qualifying for this year’s city elections 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31 through Friday, Sept. 4. The mayor’s seat and council posts 1 and 2 are up for election.

Those interested in running for election can pick up a Notice of Candidacy and Affidavit from City Clerk Phyllis Richardson at City Hall, 2342 Oak Road. Qualifying payment is due when picking up forms. Fees are $180 to run for mayor and $120 for council posts.

The elections are non-partisan; candidates do not run as members of a particular political party, and their individual party affiliations are not relevant to their position in city government.
