The Snellville City Council voted July 13 to purchase land near the police station at 2340 Wisteria Drive. The city will pay $230,000 for the almost two-acre parcel.
With the acquistion of this parcel, the city will own all the property on the west side of Wisteria Drive, from the corner at Clower Street to the post office. In combination with property on the other side of Wisteria Drive, the city can proceed with development of the Town Center according to city plans.
The Snellville Town Center is intended to create a central city district around city hall, the police station, and senior center to include retail, office and townhome developments with open spaces for festivals and events.
