With just five months left before November elections, Snellville Mayor Kelly Kautz has hired Christopher Anulewicz and Joshus Moore of Balch and Bingham in Atlanta to replace Tony Powell as Snellville city attorneys. The firm is the home of former Georgia Attorney General Mike Bowers.

Powell was dismissed last month following a Georgia Supreme Court ruling affirming Kautz’s authority to fire the city attorney. Anulewicz and Moore will charge the city reduced rates of $250 and $200 an hour respectively compared to Powell’s $150 an hour.

Kautz has not yet announced any plans to run for re-election. Depending on the November election outcome, Anulewicz and Moore may only represent the city for a few months.
