Snellville Mayor Barbara Bender, who was appointed to finish former Mayor Tom Witts term, will run unopposed to continue as the city’s leader. Six candidates have qualified to fill two open city council seats. Voters will vote between incumbent candidate Dave Emanuel and Cortez Riden for council Post 1. Council Post 2 incumbent Roger Marol is not seeking reelection. Candidates Wanda Blow, Solange Destang, Brittany Marmol and Thomas S. Mwambay will compete for the open council seat.

Polls for this city election will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Community Room at City Hall, 2342 Oak Road. If no candidate receives a majority vote, a runoff election will be held on Dec. 3, at the same location.
