The Snellville City Council voted recently to approve a plan for a senior housing development to be located behind Eastside Medical Center. Senior Lifestyle Corp., a privately-held owner, operator and developer of senior housing communities and its co-developer, Griffin Fine Living LLC, will develop The Sheridan at Eastside.
Construction will begin in the fall with a projected opening date for residents in late 2018. The project will feature 81 independent-living and 60 assisted-living apartment homes, 24 independent-living cottages and 32 memory care residences. The 190,000-square-foot retirement community will sit on approximately 15 acres of land a few blocks north of Ronald Reagan Parkway on Tree Lane, adjacent to Eastside Regional Medical Center.
Residents of the community will have access to about 24,000 square feet of common space with multiple dining options, a spa, theater, fitness and wellness center, art studio, business center, various multi-purpose lounges, a swimming pool, and more. The property will also feature outdoor access to walking paths leading to a 5-acre pond on the campus.
Once fully occupied, The Sheridan at Eastside will create more than 100 new full and part-time permanent jobs.
