The Snellville City Council voted unanimously Monday night to allow a mixed-use retail/commercial development on 13.17 acres at the intersection of Scenic Highway and Pharrs Road. Park Place Snellville’s plan includes up to nine buildings and close to 700 parking spaces as part of the 49,000-square-foot development.

The development will have six access points, three along Scenic Highway with two right-in/right-out entrances and one traffic light at the current intersection with Tree Lane/Presidential Circle. There will be three non-signaled intersections along Pharrs Road. The developer will pay for all traffic improvements.

As part of the approval, the developer will supply a required $215,000 to replace specimen trees lost due to the inability to build around them. The plan includes six-foot wide sidewalks and pedestrian lighting within the development and along both roads. The development will also include a grassed seating area with trees and benches as a centrally located gathering place.
