Snellville has announced the resignation of Planning Director Harmit Bedi, who served in that role for nearly three years.

City Manager Russell Treadway said Bedi will be replaced on an interim basis by local consultant John Davis. Bedi's resignation was effective Friday.

Treadway gave no reason for Bedi's departure.

However, Snellville councilwoman Kelly Kautz called it a "termination" in an e-mail Friday afternoon.  "I find it questionable that Mr. Bedi's replacement was a member of the Town Center consulting team," she said.

Bedi wasn't immediately available for comment.
