The Smyrna City Council approved on April 1 around $1.5 million in expenditures for six projects, including the Gann Road Bridge rehabilitation and the Roswell Street roundabout construction.

They include:

  • about $1,053,558 to the lowest bidder Baldwin Paving Co. Inc. of Marietta for the Gann Road Bridge rehabilitation to be funded by the 2016 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST). The project is for the demolition and reconstruction of the existing concrete deck roadway bridge over Cooper Lake Creek.
  • around $155,226 for the first change order due to a construction delay for the Roswell Street Roundabout by Vertical Earth's of Cumming. Funding is from the 2016 SPLOST, and the new contract total will be about $1,194,785.
  • $109,375 to the lowest bidder Aquatic Consulting & Equipment, Inc. of Alpharetta for improvements at Tolleson Pool.
  • $66,797 for the city's Parks and Recreation Department to replace 2005 Ford F-250 SD and 2002 Ford SD vehicles with two Ford F-250s for maintenance tech and for transport/towing from Wade Ford of Smyrna.
  • estimated $63,360 for this budget year to Southern Health Partners to provide onsite medical services for inmates.
  • about $52,742 to renew with Granicus for a three-year agreement to continue providing software maintenance to the city's agenda management system.
