Smoothie, juice bar coming to Cobb shopping center

A new smoothie shop is expected to open over the summer in a west Cobb shopping center.
SpecialTea Smoothies & Juices will lease 1,400 square feet of space at the Brownsville Commons shopping center, said Weingarten Realty.
The shopping center, located at the corner of Brownsville and Hiram-Lithia Springs roads, is anchored by Kroger and attracts customers from western Cobb and eastern Paulding counties.
SpecialTea will offer teas, smoothies and juices for customers looking to sample and sip custom-made beverages.
It will also offer education about the health benefits of tea, juices and smoothies “while providing cool spaces for casual healthy drinkers and organizational groups alike,” the realty company said.
Owner Tameka Harris, who lives in Powder Springs, said she hopes to open to the public by the end of the June or early July. Harris said her business will be perfect for the area, as she and her neighbors don’t have any locally owned coffee, smoothie or tea shops that cater to customers.
“This is something I’ve always had a passion for,” she said.
She also said there will be space available for small businesses and community groups to use for meetings and parties.
Harris said she’s in the process of establishing her website and Facebook page, which will be named SpecialTea Smoothies. She told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that she expects to establish her Facebook presence by March 4.
