Two men suspected of robbing a bank in northern DeKalb County Friday afternoon and shooting at a police officer were arrested Saturday.

Clifford Durham, 37, and Clifford Jackson, 22, were arrested on South Deshon Road in Lithonia, said Sgt. Adrion Bell of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.

The robbery happened at 5 p.m. at a Wells Fargo Bank on Clairmont Road near I-85.

One of the men allegedly shot at a DeKalb County police officer moments after leaving the bank, when the officer tried to stop a vehicle involved in the robbery, Bell said.

Durham and Jackson were apprehended Saturday by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Fugitive Squad and the FBI, and were each charged with armed robbery and with aggravated assault on an officer. They were being held in the DeKalb County Jail without bond Saturday.
