Seven metro area teachers earn $500 prize from bank

Seven metro area teachers received $500 awards from RBC Bank as part of the eighth-annual Tribute to Teachers program, which recognizes educators who demonstrate exceptional community leadership. The winners were Sheila Barnes, of Arnall Middle in Newnan, Ashley Bradley, of Abney Elementary in Dallas, Kristen Buckner, of McLendon Elementary in Decatur, Renee Johnson, of State Bridge Crossing Elementary in Alpharetta, Gretchen McNew, of Murray F. Barber Middle in Acworth, James Palmer,of Allatoona High in Acworth and Reeshard Scott, of Arnold Elementary in Jonesboro.
