Two drivers are in critical condition after a serious crash early Wednesday that shut down Silver Hill Road between James B. Rivers and Park Drive in DeKalb County, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

“Many first responders” were on the scene south of Ga. 78, which is near Stone Mountain, the Traffic Center reported.

DeKalb fire Capt. Eric Jackson said a woman in a small car, possibly a Chevrolet, crawled out of her car and was found lying on the ground. Officials thought she had been ejected, Jackson said.

A man driving a pickup truck was trapped and had to be freed by emergency service workers.

They were both rushed to nearby hospitals.
