Fayette County will likely do some “spot redistricting” to balance school populations based on new home construction. Superintendent Jody Barrow said Monday that a committee studied the effect that apartments and homes now being built in Fayetteville will have on elementary schools and is recommending slight adjustments to the Spring Hill and Fayette districts starting with the 2017-18 school year.
The county may also move approximately 34 students south of McIntosh Trail in Peachtree City from Huddleston to Oak Grove. Barrow said discussions will be held with parents to explain the rationale and benefits.
