The Henry County Board of Education voted at its June 11 regular business meeting to accept the low bid of $17,117,000 from MEJA Construction of Peachtree City for the new performing arts center adjacent to Fairview Elementary School.

Officials said the company has completed other projects for the Henry County School System as well as performing arts centers in other districts. The Fairview center, a SPLOST-funded project, is scheduled for completion before the start of the 2019-2020 school year and will be the second such facility for the school district, joining one already in operation for two decades in McDonough.
