Heavy rain that fell in the morning eased by afternoon, but scattered showers are expected to continue overnight, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan says.

And there’s a 60 percent chance rainfall will affect drivers on the Monday morning commute.

But at least the weather will be warm today.

While the high Sunday was in the upper 50s, a shift in the jet stream will drive down temperatures by the middle of the week, Monahan said.

Wednesday’s high is 47 degrees.

The jet stream will reach the South this week, driving temperatures into the 40s by Wednesday, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Temps will be about 30 degrees Thursday morning, but the high is expected to reach 60 by afternoon, Channel 2 reported. Skies will be dry and partly cloudy.
