Gainesville-based Red Oak Sanitation & Recycling is doing its part to battle cancer.

The company will sponsor the American Cancer Society's Patient Resource Navigation programs at the Gwinnett Medical Center in Duluth and the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Red Oak will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from its recycling program to the ACS for the two programs.

So far, the company has donated $12,000.

The Patient Resource Navigation Program enables the society to proactively reach newly-diagnosed cancer patients at hospitals where they are treated.
