The Sandy Springs City Council has adopted criteria to be followed when an organization seeks city sponsorship of a special event.

According to a resolution passed by the council, only a non-profit agency may apply. It must provide a business plan, information regarding the financing of existing events of the previous five years and, for new events, a pro-forma, marketing plan and finances for the organization.

The applicant also must provide detailed information how its event will benefit the entire community, not just the organization; and a detailed plan for event self-sustainability for the time when the event’s net income equals the contribution by the city.
