Sandy Springs has announced the appointment of a 20-year veteran in arts and venue management as executive director of the city’s Performing Arts Center,
Shaun Albrechtson begins his new job July 15 at a starting salary of $115,000, according to a city announcement.
Since 2011, Albrechtston has been assistant cultural director for programming at the PACE Center, a cultural arts center owned by the city of Parker, Colo., Sandy Springs said. He was instrumental in the center’s opening.
He previously was director of production, handling special events, for the University of Texas in Austin; and worked at theaters and performing arts centers in Washington state and California. He has a bachelor’s degree in theater from Charter Oak State College, Connecticut, and a master’s of arts administration from the University of Kentucky.
“I look forward to working with the staff and the community to establish highly diverse seasons of theater, music, art, education and many other artistic disciplines within the Performing Arts Center,” Albrechtson said.
