Closed 11 months for renovations, the Sandy Springs Library will hold a grand re-opening celebration Tuesday morning, July 23.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony, a program in the new community meeting room, tours and refreshments are planned for 10 a.m. at the library, 395 Mount Vernon Highway, according to a Fulton County Library System announcement.
Closed for construction last August, the Sandy Springs Library is the sixth to be renovated in Phase II of Fulton’s Library Building Program, officials said.
New features include three meeting rooms, four group study rooms, children's and storytime room, teen area with computers, adult reading and printing area, technology zone and computer lab, Friends of the Library area with storage space, and updated mechanical systems, restrooms and lighting, according to a Fulton Library website.
The library also will feature public art installed by the Fulton County Department of Arts and Culture.
