A Martin Luther King Jr. Day Art and Film Festival will join Sandy Springs’ 14th annual tribute to the late civil rights leader from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20.

Admission is free to the inaugural Art and Film Festival at City Springs, 1 Galambos Way. A collaboration of the city with DiasporaU and the Bronze Lens Film Festival, the event will offer hands-on craft projects for children and their families, and two screenings of the Emmy-nominated animated family film, “Our Friend Martin.”

Children who complete a series of learning stations will receive copies of the book, “My Brother Martin,” by Christine King Farris, while supplies last.

“City Springs has quickly become a central meeting place for the community, and we are delighted to utilize the versatility of the facility to expand our programming in honor of the late Dr. King, incorporating entertainment and education to engage the community,” said Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul.
