The Sandy Springs Public Facilities Authority has adopted a resolution affirming its support of a cultural center developed in partnership with the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust, “based on the commission obtaining funding milestones,” according to a city announcement.

The authority is made up of City Council members. With the resolution’s passage, it can enter into an agreement with the Holocaust Commission “on terms and conditions necessary” to continue with the project, the city said.

The resolution also supports fund-raising by Friends of the Georgia Holocaust Commission Inc.

Houser Walker Architecture has worked with the city, the commission and Sandy Springs Hospitality and Tourism Inc. (Visit Sandy Springs) to develop preliminary designs for the facility.

It is expected to be built in City Springs and would house the Anne Frank in the World Exhibit, additional public exhibits, and offices of the Holocaust Commission, Visit Sandy Springs and the Sandy Springs/Perimeter Chamber. Information: https://bit.ly/2xPhXsz
