Roswell city officials said that a portion of Oak Street will be closed to though traffic from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. The shutdown between Forrest and Myrtle streets will allow Roswell Water Utility to install a new water insertion valve near the Oak-Forrest intersection. At the same tune, MVP Piping will install a valve system in the Oak street water line at Oak and Myrtle streets.

The city said the one-day project will necessitate traffic detours.

Motorists are being encouraged to take alternate routes if possible.
