An intersection with a reputation as one of the more accident-prone in Roswell will get $242,007 in improvements under a highway construction contract approved by the City Council.

Autaco Development submitted the lower of two bids for the work at Hardscrabble Road and Woodstock Road (Ga. 92). The contractor is tasked with constructing an additional right-turn lane on Hardscrabble.

“This project was identified because of its yearly top 10 accident ranking,” staff said in a report to the council. The intersection “has a high number of rear-end crashes heading southbound on Hardscrabble Road making a right turn onto Ga. 92. Both right-turn lanes will be signalized, similar to Mansell Road at Ga. 92.”
