Roswell special needs school seeks rezoning to expand

A zoning change and other actions to allow a house to become part of an expanded school for children with neurological disorders is to come before the Roswell City Council in November.

Jacob’s Ladder Neurodevelopmental School and Therapy Center is requesting a change from residential to civic zoning that would allow the house to be converted to therapy classrooms and offices, with parking for 50 vehicles, on the northeast corner of King and Hardscrabble roads. The land is next to Jacob’s existing facility at 407 Hardscrabble.

The accredited private school serves students from pre-K to 12th grade with Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury and other disorders, according to its website. About 60 percent of it students have been diagnosed with autism.
