Georgia’s Department of Community Affairs has named Roswell an official Plan First community due, in large part, to the city’s 2030 comprehensive plan. Roswell is one of 17 jurisdictions in the state to receive the honor.
The award carries some benefits for the city, including access to a reduced interest rate on certain state environmental finance authority loans and bonus points on applications for state department of community affairs programs.
The 2030 plan calls for creation of a unified development code for the city, a downtown development authority and study of the Holcomb Bridge Road corridor, among other items. The city said the plan was created after extensive public input including workshops and citizen surveys.
