Roswell is proposing a significant reduction of 0.500 mills in its property tax millage rate for the 2019 fiscal year, resulting in a rate of 4.955 mills – among the lowest in metro Atlanta, city officials say.
Public hearings on the rate are set for 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13; 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, and 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27, in the Council Chambers at Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill St.
The city’s proposed millage includes 4.705 mils for maintenance and operations and 0.250 mills for debt service. Each mill represents $1 of tax assessment per $1,000 of assessed property value.
The millage is down from 5.455 mills last year – a rate that had remained unchanged since the 2009 fiscal year, city officials said. Information: https://bit.ly/2vrWe8e
