Roswell OKs zoning change for Motorsports store
The Roswell City Council has approved, with conditions, a rezoning request that would allow Mountain Motor Sports to move its Roswell showroom from Upper Hembree Road to the former Goodwill Industries building at 10885 Alpharetta Highway.
Northside Holdings LLC requested that the property’s zoning be changed from “CX” commercial mixed-use to “CH” commercial heavy so that Mountain Motor can sell motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and personal watercraft on the site.
The building had been a Goodwill store since 1984, according to a staff report to the council. It will be remodeled, and the parking lot, reconfigured. Council members denied a request to reduce the requirement for a 10-foot landscape strip, but allowed a reduction in the landscaping percentage from 15 percent to 14 percent.
