The Roswell City Council has approved closing two streets in the historic downtown district on a Sunday in October for the sixth edition of the annual Roswell Wine Festival.
The closure, scheduled for Oct. 7, differs from that of past wine festivals, staff said in a report to the council. Lower Canton Street will be closed from Norcross to Magnolia streets from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; upper Canton from Norcross to Woodstock Road, from noon to 5 p.m.; and Elizabeth Way, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The festival proper will start at 1 p.m. for VIP ticket holders and 2 p.m. for general admission and goes to 5 p.m.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Children’s Development Academy, Roswell.
