The Roswell City Council has approved a $904,704 contract modification to have its design consultant for the Big Creek Parkway project draw up final construction plans and specifications for Phase 1 of the traffic relief effort.

Phase 1 will include improvements along Warsaw Road between Holcomb Bridge Road (Ga. 140) and the proposed roundabout where Big Creek will tie into Warsaw, according to a staff report to the council. Plans also call for left-turn improvements along Holcomb Bridge at Warsaw.

The contract modification will be paid for out of the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax approved by voters in November 2016.

According to a city website on the project, Big Creek Parkway would extend from Warsaw parallel to and north of Holcomb Bridge, cross Ga. 400, connect with the existing intersection of Old Alabama Road and Holcomb Woods Parkway, and end at Holcomb Bridge.
