The Roswell City Council has approved a $452,270 contract for Phase III of the Old Mill Park Trail Extension Project.
Macallan Construction submitted the lowest and most responsive bid of eight received for the work, staff said in a report to the council.
Phase III work includes expanding the existing trail system to incorporate pedestrian and Americans with Disabilities Act trail access via boardwalks and overlooks. This will allow “additional connectivity” to the historic mill ruins south of the covered bridge in the park, staff said.
Old Mill Park, at 95 Mill View Avenue, has walking trails to old mill ruins dating to the 1850s; a historic machine shop; and an overlook to the historic Vickery Creek dam.
