Residents of one Roswell neighborhood say their busy insection makes their commute a harrowing experience.

Residents say leaving their subdivision on River Lake Drive and Riverside Road during rush hour is dangerous, but city officials say there is little they can do right now.

"It's usually taking our lives in our hands," resident Miglena Sandmeier told Channel 2 Action News. "Our visibility is close to zero."

Ellen Weidmann, another resident, said she got into a car accident trying to get out of the neighborhood.

Steve Acenbrak, the city transportation director, said his office can't make any permanent changes on the road until the city finishes the Riverside Road master plan.

"We have been down there, we've talked to these people, we understand their concerns," Acenbrak told Channel 2 Action News.

Acenbrak said the city installed a speed limit sign warning of drivers of the intersection. Residents say they want the speed limit reduced and a traffic light.

"We really are pleaing for help from the city, the DOT, anyone who can help us," Sandmeier said.
