Roswell will pay $282,214 to Fulton County to conduct a special election and, if necessary, a runoff this spring to fill the City Council Post 4 seat vacated when the prior incumbent resigned.

The Council on Monday approved a contract with the Fulton Department of Registrations and Elections to conduct the special election on March 21 and a runoff if necessary on April 18, as well as to have advanced voting at two locations.

Advance voting will take place Feb. 27 through March 17 at the Roswell Public Library, 115 Norcross St., and the East Roswell Public Library, 2301 Holcomb Bridge Road.

The election is to fill the unexpired term of former Councilmember Kent Igleheart, who resigned Nov. 1 after his arrest on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, enticing a child for indecent purposes and furnishing alcohol to a minor. Igleheart’s four-year term runs through Dec. 31.
