The cities of Alpharetta and Roswell may team up for improvements to a significant street corridor.
The Roswell City Council Monday night authorized city officials to sign a $250,000 design contract with TY Lin International for improvements to Rucker Road, as well as upgrading the Rucker and Houze roads intersection.
Alpharetta officials plan multiple turn lane improvements and multi-use trails along that city’s portion of Rucker if a May 24 bond referendum passes. Roswell would then authorize Lin to move ahead with designing similar improvements westward on Rucker to Ga. 140/Houze.
Also Monday night, the Roswell Council approved a construction contract with Urey Companies LLC for the Oxbo Drive One-Way Pair project at Atlanta Street for just over $98,000. The project adds a new eastbound lane on Oxbo Drive designed to relieve traffic on Mimosa Boulevard until the full Oxbo intersection project is green lighted.
