Georgia DOT will suspend construction-related lane closures on all interstates and major state routes from 5 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23 through 10 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, and again at 5 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31 through 5 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2.
“Remember, there could be lane closures for a crash or maintenance emergency. Construction lane closures will not be in place, but work zones will still be out there. Please slow down as you enter each work zone and be alert for lane shifts or changes in the work area,” said District Engineer Brent Cook. High congestion is anticipated at I-85 and I-985 especially near the Mall of Georgia and Sugarloaf Mills.
