Work on the Ga. 53 bridge replacement project over the Chestatee River will affect drivers in Forsyth and Hall counties Wednesday night. With crews pouring another concrete support structure for the new span, a westbound right-hand travel lane will be shut down from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 6 a.m. Thursday.

The closing will be between Dogwood Trail and Little Hall Park. Traffic control will be in place to guide drivers around the construction.

Wednesday night’s work is part of a larger project under which an out-of-date 1956 bridge is being replaced and just over two-thirds of a mile of the roadway will be re-aligned. The work should be finished in 2019.
