Although Riverdale has just one tattoo parlor, the city council unanimously passed an ordinance Monday to monitor that business and any others seeking to locate there.
The commissioners used standards from the Clayton County Board of Health’s Environmental Health Division to draft an ordinance that monitored the conditions of tattoo parlors. The Clayton County law was enacted in January 2014 and went into effect in March in unincorporated Clayton County.
The ordinance states that tattoo parlors in unincorporated Clayton County must go through the health department before obtaining business licenses.
