Update 2/9/2016: The restaurant received an 85 on its latest inspection.
A popular Gwinnett County restaurant that serves what it calls contemporary American cuisine has failed a health inspection.
Grace 17.20 does well on online reviews, averaging around four stars out of five.
But on Jan. 27, the Peachtree Corners restaurant, which is in the outdoor shopping area called The Forum, got an inspection score of 58.
Jeanne Phillips, a shopper at The Forum on Peachtree Parkway, told Channel 2’s Carol Sbarge that the news is disheartening.
“You would think at The Forum, a restaurant would have a better score,” Phillips said.
Some of the violations included a worker putting dirty dishes in with other dirty dishes, and then serving food and drinks to customers without washing hands, some food in coolers and on ice not kept cold enough and the dish machine at the bar didn’t use an adequate level of sanitizer.
The management at Grace 17.20 told Sbarge they had no comment except to say they were correcting all the problems and now have them fixed.
In April of last year, the restaurant got a 75 on an inspection, which is a “C.”
They corrected the problems enough to get a 90 in a followup inspection that month.
We will keep you posted on what the restaurant gets when it is re-inspected within 10 days of the 58.
