Forsyth County officials warn a road resurfacing project in south Forsyth could create delays until the end of the month.

The stretch of McFarland Parkway between Ga. 9 and Union Hill Road is scheduled for resurfacing this week prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, then picks up again and finishes the week of Nov. 28.

Officials said that to minimize traffic issues, lane closures will be restricted to between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays on the four-lane, median-divided road carrying some 24,00 vehicles a day.

The work’s part of 64.5 miles of county resurfacing being done by Blount construction. Repaving on another stretch of McFarland between Union Hill and McGinnis Ferry roads was to have wrapped up at the end of last week.
