2 remain in hospital after hotel shuttle bus wreck

May 27, 2013

Two people remain hospitalized following a wreck Friday morning involving a hotel shuttle bus and a tractor-trailer near Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

More than a dozen people were injured when the shuttle struck an 18-wheeler.

Only two remained at Grady Memorial Hospital as of late Sunday afternoon, hospital spokeswoman Denise Simpson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The tractor-trailer was making a legal U-turn on Loop Road just south of the Virginia Avenue exit from I-85 when the collision occurred, College Park Police Sgt. Keith Stanley previously said. Police said the bus skidded 158 feet before hitting the trailer.

The truck driver was not hurt.

The investigation of the accident is continuing.
