Railroad Work Requires part of Jonesboro Road to close

Weather permitting, The train corporation CSX will resurface a section of Jonesboro Road where the railroad crosses.

The work will take place from 9 a.m. 9 p.m. today and require sections of Jonesboro Road to close. Local traffic will be permitted to travel on Jonesboro Road to access local businesses. A detour will be in place for truck traffic. The closure will affect the afternoon commute. Detour message boards will be in place at the intersections of Jonesboro Road and Mt. Zion Road, Southlake Parkway, and Battle Creek Road. The road closure will require a traffic detour and will likely to result in delays. Motorists are advised to exercise caution while driving in the area.
