Peachtree Road United Methodist Church will observe the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001,  attacks with day of activities.

The program begins with special morning services at 8:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Sept. 11 at the church, 3180 Peachtree Road N.W.

There will also be a gathering on the front lawn  at 4:15 p.m. to thank local firefighters, police and emergency teams. It will be followed by a  5 p.m. service that will feature special prayers, music and messages from clergy, civic leaders and others.

Later,  the PRUMC Prayers for Peace memorial will be dedicated and doves released as a symbol of peace and hope.
