Proposal for Hidden Valley Park repairs defeated

A proposal for repairs at Hidden Valley Park was denied by Henry County commissioners.
A request for up to $394,000 in improvements to Hidden Valley Park in the Fairview area failed to get the votes from the Henry County Board of Commissioners.
A motion by Bruce Holmes, in whose district the park is located, to approve the resolution was seconded by Dee Clemmons but the other four members of the board voted against it. The action came at the commissioners’ Dec. 17 regular meeting, just before a vote to move forward with stormwater repairs to Cochran Park in Stockbridge, which has been closed for nearly six months.
Several commissioners requested that a plan be put in place to make improvements at all county parks rather than approving requests like this piece by piece.
