Sandy Springs will hold an open house about planned improvements for the intersection of Powers Ferry and Mount Paran roads.

The proposed project is intended to improve the intersection by targeting current delays and congestion, according to a press release.

The plans include operational and safety enhancements to alleviate bottlenecks and improved sidewalks and pedestrian access.

There will not be a formal presentation, but city representatives will be available to discuss the project and answer questions.

The event will take place Jan. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Holy Spirit Preparatory School,  4820 Long Island Drive.

Separately, an open house on "Last Mile Connectivity"— the challenge of getting people from public transportation like MARTA to final destinations such as residences, offices and shopping — will take place at the same time that day in Sandy Springs' Northpark Town Center.
