$173 million. Now that number has a ring to it. And that's how much some lucky person could win in Wednesday's multistate Powerball jackpot drawing since no one matched all the winning numbers in Saturday’s drawing. Those numbers were: 3-8-23-30-58 and the powerball was 13.

Two Georgia Lottery players matched four numbers plus the Powerball number Saturday, winning $10,000 each. Those lucky tickets were purchased in McDonough and LaFayette.

Powerball offers two payment options: the $173 million jackpot prize paid over 29 years in 30 graduated payments, or the cash option, which is about $105 million.  Powerball tickets are $1 per play. Drawings are at 11 p.m. every Wednesday and Saturday

The Powerball jackpot has been growing since Lithonia resident Kathy Scruggs, 44, won $25 million in the Sept. 14 drawing. Scruggs said she had requested a Mega Millions ticket but wound up with that and the winning Powerball ticket and accepted both of them.

Speaking of Mega Millions, that jackpot is nothing to sneeze at either. Tuesday's drawing is worth $57 million.
