The Powder Springs City Council voted 4-1 Monday to allow breweries and brewpubs.
Councilwoman Nancy Hudson was opposed.
Alcoholic beverages must be contained within “a discreet container” during city-sanctioned events.
However, they are not allowed at the city’s Fourth of July or Christmas events.
City excise taxes on beer and malt beverages produced by brewpubs will be $12 for a barrel of 31 gallons.
