The Powder Springs City Council approved around $157,313 in purchases last week.
The city will use its Community Development Block Grant from Cobb, amounting to $78,305, for American Disabilities Act renovations in the Council Chamber and at the Senior Citizen Center.
Tetra Tech Inc. will be paid $37,815 to train city employees in case of an emergency or a disaster
Henry Inc. will receive $24,034 to build and install a monument sign at New Macland Road and Richard D. Sailors Parkway.
Brucker HVAC has been paid $12,159 for an air-conditioning unit replacement at the police department and repair of an air-conditioning system at the Powder Springs Library.
No more than $5,000 will be paid to a moving and storage company, not yet selected, for the removal, packing and storage of furniture and lighting fixtures from the Historic Bodiford House at 4355 Marietta St. and return of these items at the end of the renovation project, which is expected to be June 1.
The century-old house will become the new home of the Seven Springs Museum, now housed next to the train tracks at Powder Springs Park.
