Two drivers were killed early Monday in a head-on collision in Lawrenceville, police said.
Mahvash Yazdanpanah, 55, of Duluth and Larry Liles, 54, of Lawrenceville were each alone in their vehicles and died at the scene, authorities said.
The crash happened about 5 a.m. Monday on Old Norcross Road at Hillandale Road.
Lawrenceville police Sgt. Christopher Ralston told the AJC that witness statements and evidence at the scene suggested that the female driver of a Volvo that was eastbound on Old Norcross Road crossed the median and struck an oncoming Hyundai head-on.
The Volvo driver and the male driver of the Hyundai were both killed.
"We're taking measurements to determine the speed," Ralston said. "It's going to be a couple of days before we know if any alcohol or anything played a role in it."
An accident reconstruction will be done to help determine the cause of the collision, police said.
