Investigators believe they know the name of the man who was struck and killed as he crossed a Cobb County intersection, and they have talked to the man who allegedly struck the pedestrian.
Smyrna police, however, said Monday they would also like to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the Sunday afternoon incident.
The pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was attempting to cross South Cobb Drive at Windy Hill Road when he was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday, Master Patrol Officer Louis Defense said. Investigators believe the pedestrian was in a crosswalk when he was hit, Defense said.
The pickup truck’s driver remained at the scene of the wreck and was interviewed by police. His name was not released and no charges had been filed as of early Monday afternoon.
Anyone who witnessed the wreck is asked to contact Smyrna police at 770-434-9481 or by email at rhanson@smyrnaga.gov.
