A Smyrna man found dead Tuesday was apparently murdered, police say.

Henry Cardell, 42, was discovered by a friend inside his residence at the Galleria Apartments, a Smyrna police spokesman said. The friend, who was checking on Cardell after not hearing from him in days, notified police.

Cardell's car, a 2007 red Mazda 4, was missing from the parking lot but was later recovered in Atlanta, police said.

An autopsy has been completed but police are not releasing the cause of death. No suspects have been named.
